About Natalia Prishepenko

Natalia Prishepenko is Professor of Violin at the University of Music Carl Maria von Weber Dresden, prizewinner of international competitions and a highly sought-after pedagogue.

At the age of 16, she won First Prize at the International Paganini Competition in Genoa, becoming the youngest and first female winner in the history of the competition.

She was Primaria of the Artemis Quartet, one of the world’s leading string quartets, performing on the most prestigious international stages.

Natalia Prishepenko is regularly invited to serve on the juries of major international competitions, including the ARD International Music Competition and the Queen Elisabeth Competition.

Among the recent achievements of her class are first prizes at major international competitions, including the Marina Yashvili Competition (Georgia) and the Bach Competition Leipzig.

Her students are regularly accepted into leading orchestras and their academies (including the Accademia Stauffer, Cremona, the Gewandhausorchester, the Staatskapelle Dresden, the

Konzerthausorchester Berlin and the Berliner Philharmoniker); several have gone on to hold leading positions, including principal and concertmaster roles.

Her artistic development was shaped by numerous distinguished musicians, including Tamara Prishepenko, David Geringas, Antje Weithaas, Werner Scholz, Christoph Poppen and Alfred Brendel, as well as by ensembles such as the Alban Berg Quartet and the Emerson String Quartet.

Her pedagogical approach combines the highest technical standards, stylistic versatility and fidelity to the musical text with the development of an individual artistic voice and a strong stage presence.
